Etsy Fee Calculator

Etsy's fee stack has more layers than the 6.5% transaction fee. For every sale you make on the marketplace, Etsy charges a listing fee, a transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, a payment processing fee, and — on orders that arrive through offsite ads — an extra 15% or 12% on top. Enter your item price and shipping once, and this calculator adds all of those layers together into one number: what actually lands in your account per sale.

For physical products the full stack is: the $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee on item price plus shipping and gift wrap, about 3% + $0.25 in payment processing in the US, and the offsite ads fee when the order came from one. That is the view this page is preset to, so the first calculation you run is the realistic one, not an idealized one.

Digital products are simpler: there is no shipping, so the 6.5% transaction fee only covers the item price, and the margin is usually better — although digital prices tend to be lower than physical ones. Toggle the preset and check your own numbers before you assume.

Listing costs matter more than they look when you list in bulk: $0.20 per item each time you list or renew, and listings auto-renew every four months, so an active shop pays that on every active listing, not just the new ones.

Use the result as a pricing check too. If the net payout per sale is below what you planned, raise the price before you raise ad spend — a healthy shop usually wants 30% or more of the sale amount left over after all of these fees.

FAQ

What fees does Etsy charge?

Listing fee ($0.20 per item), transaction fee (6.5% of item price plus shipping and gift wrap), payment processing (about 3% + $0.25 in the US), and offsite ads (15% on orders from offsite ads, 12% for high-volume sellers).

Do digital products pay the same fees?

Same fee types, but with no shipping the 6.5% transaction fee only covers the item price. The $0.20 listing fee still applies to digital listings.

What is the transaction fee based on?

6.5% of the item price plus shipping and gift wrap — not just the item price. That is why high-shipping items get squeezed harder than they look.

How do I price for a target profit?

Decide the net amount you want to keep per sale, then raise your price until this calculator shows that number. A common target is a 30% or higher margin on the sale amount.

How accurate is this calculator?

It uses Etsy's published rates, last checked 2026-11-02. Rates can change, so confirm on Etsy's official fees page.
