Etsy Fee Calculator UK
Selling from the UK on Etsy means the fee stack is nearly identical to the US, with two real differences: the payment processing rate and the currency. UK sellers pay about 4% + £0.20 in payment processing instead of the US rate, and this page is preset to the UK region so the calculator uses those numbers from the first calculation, not after you hunt for a settings toggle.
The 6.5% transaction fee still applies to item price plus shipping, and the $0.20 listing fee is charged in pounds at the current exchange rate when you list. Because the fee is denominated in USD, your effective listing cost drifts with the exchange rate — small, but real when you list in bulk.
VAT deserves a separate note. The 20% standard rate is a tax obligation, not a platform fee, so it is not part of these calculations. It does change how you should price, though: if you are VAT-registered, your listing price includes VAT, and the fees are calculated on the price the buyer pays, which is the VAT-inclusive amount.
UK buyers expect fast, cheap postage. Most UK sellers ship small items via Royal Mail 1st or 2nd Class and use Parcelforce or a courier for anything larger. Put your real per-parcel cost into the shipping field, then check what switching to free shipping would do to your margin.
The calculator displays amounts in USD because Etsy publishes its fee schedule in US dollars. To make the decision in pounds, convert the net payout at today's rate — and remember the $0.20 listing fee is charged in USD too, so its effective cost in GBP drifts with the exchange rate.
Offsite ads work the same in the UK: 15%, or 12% for high-volume sellers, on the orders that arrive through them. Keep the toggle on when you want the worst-case view of a sale.

FAQ
What is the UK payment processing fee?
About 4% + £0.20, per Etsy's published rates — higher than the US rate, which is the main UK-specific difference in the fee stack.
Do I pay VAT?
VAT (20% standard rate) is a tax matter and is not included in these platform fee calculations. It affects the price the buyer pays, which is the amount the fees are based on.
What currency is used?
Amounts are shown in USD; UK sellers can convert to GBP at the current rate. Note the listing fee itself is charged in USD.
